Dog museum
Can there be more joy for kids than seeing many of man’s best friends in one place?
Residents of Palanga, the famous artist Vytautas Kusas and his wife Vida began collecting a private collection of souvenir dogs in the spring of 1991, and 18 years later it became an exhibit of the first Dog Museum created in the Baltic States. Today, on the shelves of the museum, which is especially popular with children, there are about 6,000 exhibits with images of dogs from 40 countries around the world, they are made of 27 different materials. Most of them are souvenir dog statues.
In the Dog Museum, you can also see a unique collection of various carved bird eggs, original paintings by V. Kusas.
