Old Jewish cemetery of Palanga (II) (about 300 metres east of Naglis Hill)

After the fire of 1830 destroyed Palanga, the old burial records were destroyed (the oldest burial records date back to 1487).
In 1831 burials began to be recorded in the new Jewish cemetery on the outskirts of the town.
The cemetery contains 10 granite and concrete tombstones (matzevot) of various sizes with carved epitaphs in Hebrew characters.
A monument was erected in 1991 to mark the site as an old Jewish cemetery.
On 4 September 2008 the cemetery was entered into the Register of Cultural Property of the Republic of Lithuania (unique object code – 32235).
